Boracay is an island in the Western Visayas Region or Region 6. It is the most western island in the Western Visayas and can be found in the province of Aklan. It has borders to the north with the island province of Romblon and Mindoro to the North West. Boracay island itself lies off the north west tip of the island of Panay.

Boracay Communities or Barangays
A Barangay is the smallest administration unit in the Philippines.
Boracay Philippines has three Barangay’s: 1. Barangay Yapak is in the northern portion of Boracay Island, it is hilly and in some places 100 metres above sea level.2. Barangay Balabagis in the lower lying middle section of Boracay Philippines. White beach with all its resorts are part of Yapak Barangay. This would be the hub of Boracay.3. Barangay Manoc-Manoc is located, you guessed it, in the southern end of Boracay. Manoc-Manoc is not as commercialised as the other Barangay’s. It is a peaceful and quiet area and for those who are keen to take photos, you can catch some great images across to Caticlan on Panay.
